God calls Christians to devote themselves meaningfully and faithfully in covenant membership to a local church. The church is not a place, institution, or an event. Rather, it’s the body of Christ, composed of many members (1 Cor 12:12-27) who live out their faith together in unity, worship, service, and mission.
